Artist Statement

I draw, cut, paint, and weave simple paper shapes, fragmented letter forms, and reclaimed materials into densely layered collages. My works resemble scribbling white spectral shrouds fluctuating between loosely woven biophilic shapes and broken alphabetic structures, which extend outward before unraveling aimlessly at the edges. As I remake surfaces, I create spaces for contemplation and wonder. Every small fold, eccentric shape, and enclosure that envelopes the surface is not only significant in itself but is also deeply resonant of a cultural whole.
